It is very important to us that our clients and passengers have a great limousine experience, but it is equally important that we follow the laws of the state of Texas and ensure the safety of our chauffeurs, passengers, and our equipment. Therefore, we have strict policies that must be adhered to when it comes to alcohol in our vehicles.
It is allowed, by law, to consume alcohol in the back of a limousine. The Texas Penal Code, Section 49.031 states that open containers are permitted in any vehicle transporting passengers for compensation. This law also applies to sedans (regular-sized cars), but we have a strict policy that the alcohol must be contained to the back seat and must be removed when the passengers exit the vehicle. So if there is a passenger in the front seat next to the chauffeur, he is not allowed to consume.
However, it is prohibited, by the order of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC), that a limousine company can not provide alcohol to it's clients and passengers. This even includes a bottle of champagne for a bride and groom, so if a company offers this amenity, they are breaking the law. We are also not allowed to stop the vehicle at a corner store and run inside and purchase beer or alcohol for our passengers. We can stop, but you as the passenger must make the purchase.
Minors are not permitted to consume alcohol......period. It is our policy that if the majority of the passengers are minors, then alcohol is not even allowed in the vehicle. If the vehicle is full of mostly adults, with only 1
or 2 minors, then alcohol is permitted, but is only to be consumed by adults. If alcohol is found when it is not allowed, then the trip may be immediately terminated with no refund and the passengers will be returned to the point of pickup.
If you would like alcohol chilled at the time of pickup, you may drop off any products to our office during normal business hours. Ice and setups are available at a slight additional charge.
As mentioned above, we hold safety in the highest regard. If at any time, a passenger becomes belligerent, destructive, or dangerous to himself or others, the chauffeur reserves the right to terminate the run with approval from management.
Lastly, it is important for us to mention that we have a $380 fee if anyone vomits in one of our vehicles. We ask that you not consume excessively to the point of getting sick. Should this happen, sober passengers can assist those that have had too much to drink to try and avoid any accidents in the car. We recommend sitting next to a window or using a plastic bag to avoid a mess in the vehicle.
